INTRODUCTION

This web site is developed from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment's Stormwater Training Seminar and the stormwater management projects sponsored by Great Lakes Cleanup and Sustainability Funds. As an introduction to stormwater management, our emphasis is on the concept of effective stormwater management. In addition to the traditional flood and erosion control, stormwater management has evolved to comprehensive management of our water ecosystems. Our target audience groups are environmental professionals, scientists, engineers, planners, and students in science and engineering. Each chapter comprises a teaching plan, reading materials, self-evaluation questions, and feedback (comments) mechanism. You are suggested to follow the chapter sequence if you are a beginner in stormwater management. We sincerely hope you will enjoy this learning module and send us back comments.

Sincerely from,

James Li, Ph.D., P.Eng.
